First deployed in the final days of the Republic, the V-wing fighter incorporated technological advances from the ARC-170 and V-19 Torrent and took design cues from Jedi star-fighters. The speedy fighter proved ideal for escort duty, and V-wings accompanied the Emperor’s shuttle to and from the Mustafar system when Palpatine rescued Darth Vader. - Star Wars
