Denyse Klette's artistic journey began at the age of four, when she copied drawings from her sister's "How to Draw" book, which a Disney artist wrote. By eight, she had already declared her future as an artist, and by sixteen, she had her first cartoon strip published in two local newspapers. That determination has fueled a creative career spanning over 45 years.
Her work is now in galleries and private collections across North America and beyond. Notable highlights include a 45-piece installation at the $40M Deerfoot Inn and Casino and over 15 years of commissioned portraiture for clients worldwide.
Denyse co-created the award-winning Belly Button Buddies children's series, which expanded into live theater and television. She also authored a globally distributed adult coloring book series with Macmillan Publishing. She has seen her artwork licensed on various products, from home décor to fashion and puzzles.
In 2017, Denyse debuted her first bronze sculpture. She began blending painting with sculpted bias relief, occasionally adorned with Swarovski crystals, because, as she puts it, "Can you ever have too much sparkle?"
A true career milestone came when she became the first Canadian artist to walk into my studio and paint Disney's most magical characters—it's a dream come true," she says.
