By day, Jaime Carrillo is a math teacher with EPISD. By night, he’s a professional comic artist whose passion for pop culture has led to collaborations with Marvel, Wizards of the Coast, Heavy Metal Magazine, and iconic franchises like Dungeons & Dragons, Iron Maiden, and Star Wars.

Carrillo’s art career began in 2003 when he illustrated a book written by his sister and debuted it at San Diego Comic-Con. A lifelong fan of comics and Star Wars, he turned his hobby into a professional pursuit, using school breaks and evenings to focus on his craft.

Though he rarely mentions his art to his students, many discover it through social media or Comic Con appearances. Carrillo is a frequent guest at El Paso Comic Con and credits the rise of superhero films for the event’s growing popularity and community impact.

From the classroom to the convention floor, Carrillo continues to inspire with his unique blend of creativity and dedication.
