Inspired by the works of Edgar Degas and Malcolm Liepke, North Carolina native Tim Rogerson has embarked on a creative journey that has taken him from studying the great masters to becoming a celebrated name in the world of Disney Fine Art and contemporary pop culture.
Rogerson fulfilled his dream by attending the prestigious Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, where he majored in Illustration. “I was a very traditional art student,” he recalls. “I explored everything—from the old masters to modern art. With their confident and expressive brushstrokes, artists like Degas and John Singer Sargent influenced my approach and helped me push the envelope in abstracting life.”
Working primarily in oil paints, Rogerson focuses on capturing people in vibrant social settings, always striving to evolve his style. “My work is constantly developing—becoming more sophisticated and detailed over time.”
One of Rogerson’s proudest achievements came in 2006 when he was named an Official Artist of the U.S. Olympic Winter Team, a title earned through his collaboration with Fine Art Ltd., an official licensee of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
“As my style continues to emerge, I break down compositions into simple shapes, each with its palette,” says Rogerson. “It’s like a jigsaw puzzle of color coming together to form an image.”
