DISNEY - THE ART OF DANIEL ARRIAGA

As a visual development artist, Daniel Arriaga is tasked with creating the artistic vision for animated films, bringing them to life from their earliest stages. Daniel takes on a unique challenge with Disney Storytellers' art portfolio: reimagining and drawing inspiration from Disney's classic films to provide fresh perspectives on beloved tales. His keen sense of visual storytelling and distinctive artistic style breathe new life into the iconic stories told by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Daniel studied art and animation at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. He began his career at Pixar Animation Studios as a Production Assistant on Monsters, Inc. In 2001, Daniel transitioned from production to an artistic role, designing characters and sets for acclaimed films such as Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, and Toy Story 3, where he served as Character Art Director. One of his most notable contributions is the design of the memorable Lotso Huggin' Bear, the charmingly deceptive (and strawberry-scented!) antagonist of Toy Story 3.

2009 Daniel took a brief hiatus from Pixar to join Walt Disney Animation Studios as a visual development artist on Wreck-It Ralph and as Art Director for Prep & Landing 2. He returned to Pixar in 2011, where he continues to apply his creative talents to upcoming film projects, shaping the next generation of Pixar's animated classics.
