LOONEY TUNES - THE ART OF LISA LOPUCK

Lisa began her artistic journey at eight years old by taking formal oil painting classes alongside adults. By age 14, she mastered Western scenes and horses with photorealistic precision. As an adult, her focus shifted to graphic design. In 1991, she became one of the pioneers in the digital revolution, working at the Apple Multimedia Lab in San Francisco before joining George Lucas at Skywalker Ranch.

In 1998, Lisa returned to painting, this time embracing watercolors. Determined to achieve the same level of control she had with oils, she dedicated herself to mastering the complexities of the medium, exploring its mineral interactions to create vivid textures and striking colors. Her first series of large-scale hyper-realistic tropical florals was a resounding success, selling in galleries and to collectors worldwide and earning her Signature Membership in the National Watercolor Society. Her second series captured high-action scenes of Western performance horses in the throes of movement, complete with swirling dust and intense expressions.

Most recently, Lisa revisited her digital roots in a bold new direction—her “Digital Pop” series. This collection showcases iconic, whimsical scenes defined by bold color palettes and simplified black lines. “There is a necessity to economize in mobile app and web design. In this digital age, viewers have grown accustomed to navigating a wealth of information through small affordances such as icons, simple layouts, and the use of color,” she explains. The *Digital Pop* series leverages this modern visual literacy to convey small, often humorous narratives in each piece.

Lisa now lives with her husband on a small ranch in the Southern California mountains. When not creating new designs, she enjoys riding her horse and playing tennis, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty around her.
