MICHAEL HUMPHRIES - DISNEY ART COLLECTION
Michael Humphries' artistic journey began during his childhood in Tampa, Florida, where his passion for drawing and painting took root. After his family moved to Long Beach, California, his artistic talents blossomed, and throughout high school, he immersed himself in nature, using it as his inspiration. Drafted into the Army during his second year of college, Michael served as a member of the 1st Air Cavalry Division's Combat Art Team in Vietnam. Upon his return, he continued his studies at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, where he now teaches.

Michael's professional career began at Walt Disney Studios, where he worked as a background artist on films such as *The Great Mouse Detective*, *The Rescuers Down Under*, *The Hunchback of Notre Dame*, and the Academy Award®-winning *The Lion King*. He also served as art director for *Fantasia 2000* and the Academy Award-nominated short *The Little Match Girl*. Michael earned an Annie Award nomination for his work as a production designer on Sony Pictures' *Open Season*.
Known for his fascination with the American landscape, Michael's paintings invite viewers to pause and appreciate the beauty in nature's grand and simple elements. Sagebrush Fine Art reproduces his fine art prints. Michael resides in Studio City, California.
