"My goal is to create abstract art that resonates with everyone, sparking thought, curiosity, imagination, inspiration, and conversation."

As a child, Tom Matousek, a San Francisco-based, award-winning artist, began his journey by studying cartoons and quickly developed the ability to draw almost anything from memory. "I remember staying up late with my brother and friends, watching *Creature Features* and drawing whatever we could find—sports pages, trading cards, beverage cans, and cartoon characters. Ever since childhood, I dreamed of becoming a Disney artist."
As Tom's artistic voice evolved, he began experimenting with portraits on canvas, using abstract shapes to define his style. His breakthrough came when he started composing faces using sharp, geometric forms. While these shapes and colors dominate the image at first glance, the proper focus is on light value and how it guides the viewer's eye to create a unified form.
Recently, Tom has created portraits for icons like Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, former Google SVP and Softbank CEO Nikesh Arora, and TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie. With so many famous faces captured on his canvas, it's only fitting that Tom now turns his talent to one of the most recognizable faces in the world—Mickey Mouse—making his lifelong dream of becoming a Disney artist a reality.
