 THE ART OF TREVOR MEZAK  

Recognized for his distinctive use of texture in a signature impressionistic style, Trevor Mezak is an artist driven to create daily. “I feel the day is missing something if I don’t,” he shares.

Inspired by the world around him, Mezak is passionate about painting figurative subjects while also captivated by the intricate design elements of playing cards, particularly face cards. Born and raised in Southern California, Mezak began painting in his teens, developing a self-taught style that evolved through extensive experimentation with various mediums and techniques. Ultimately, he found his artistic voice with oils, valuing their vibrant color and expressive texture.

Citing William DeBilzan and Aldo Luongo as artistic influences, Mezak’s primary inspiration comes from his own life experiences and the moods they evoke. “Before painting, I have to go surfing. It puts me in a good place. When you’re in a good mood, it shows in your art,” he says. His creative process is fueled by the energy of loud music, the aroma of coffee, and the presence of his loyal black lab—amid the joyful interruptions of his children.

Trevor Mezak’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions nationwide. It is held in private collections worldwide, including those of Chicago Bears player Michael Brown and the late actor Paul Walker.
