Born in Brasília, Brazil, Karin Arruda began studying art at seven at a prestigious Catholic art school, where she developed a strong foundation in classical techniques. Though she initially pursued a career in veterinary medicine, her passion for art remained constant. In 2002, she decided to follow her true calling—paper sculpture.
Karin has taught her unique technique to over 3,000 students across Brazil and continues to share her craft through online classes in both Portuguese and English. Her work has been featured in exhibitions, children's books, and magazine covers. Since 2012, she has donated artwork to support pediatric cancer patients at the National Cancer Institute in Rio de Janeiro.
A lifelong student of artistic growth, Karin finds endless inspiration in Disney.
